The Golden Roast has been in business at this same location for ten years. The owner, Alan Zeigel roasts all the coffees with his own roaster. First, the beans are purchased from a green coffee importer.This coffee is shipped in from Columbia, Brazil, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Mexico, Sumatra, Kenya and Ethiopia, etc. We also offer Fair trade coffee certified by Transfair USA.

The coffee is then roasted in his antique German roaster, which gives the coffee its rich flavor and aroma. For a little variety, Alan blends two or more coffees together or add special flavors to some of the blends.

The coffee beans can be purchased at the store by the ounce or by the pound online. You can also come in and sit for a while to enjoy your cappuccino or latte.

The Golden Roast serves lunch, featuring homemade vegan soups, pita sandwiches, salads and decadent desserts from Rita's Bakery. The location on the UT campus is excellent for those wishing to grab a quick cup of coffee before work or school, to study quietly in the corner, or to use as a meeting place to talk or play a game of chess.

Students and professional Groups are welcome to reserve our large table for meetings or classes. Free WiFi is always available.
